L41 homes can be built in many configurations, to create innovative and exciting buildings, from a single unit to high-rise buildings and because of the high achievable densities, can play a significant role in providing affordable housing in inner-city locations.
In addition to the 220 sq. ft. Studio, there also is a 320 sq. ft. 1-Bed and a 420 sq. ft. 2-Bedroom unit.
The units will be manufactured in factories and delivered to the site ready to place on foundations or stacked to form multi-storey buildings.
The US and Canada are in the process of amending the Building Codes to allow higher buildings in CLT. We are studying the feasibility of building the world's tallest wood building, 12-storeys of stacked CLT, L41home modules.
The L41home complexes will allow the inhabitants many enriching experiences, the benefits of and education about sustainable living, understanding “less-is-more”, co-op transportation systems, vegetable gardening, waste/power management, “green” building and materials, and good design. They will show how these common interests can help to foster and improve social interaction and create a community.
